2.III. The Altar of God

Tolerance for pain may be high, but it is not without limit. Eventually everyone begins to recognize, however dimly, that there must be a better way. As this recognition becomes more firmly established, it becomes a turning point. This ultimately reawakens spiritual vision, simultaneously weakening the investment in physical sight.

　有名な"there must be a better way"である。ヘレンの直接啓示でもあっただろうし、こう落ち着かせたのはワプニックではないだろうか。Acimに至るというのがまさにもう一つの道であったな。

The children of God are entitled to the perfect comfort that comes from perfect trust. Until they achieve this, they waste themselves and their true creative powers on useless attempts to make themselves more comfortable by inappropriate means.

　これはワークブックをそれなりに終えてみると、ずしんとくるところだ。今でもそうかもしれない。

God is lonely without His Sons, and they are lonely without Him. They must learn to look upon the world as a means of healing the separation. The Atonement is the guarantee that they will ultimately succeed.

　"God is lonely without His Sons, and they are lonely without Him."とかすごい言葉だなと思うが、ブーバーなどにしてみても、普通の感覚だったかもしれない。
　自分にとって、イエス・キリストというのは孤独な人である。が、そう見えてしまう自分の孤独を寄り添わせるべきでもないだろう。
　と、イエスが出てくるのは、Atonementにその響きを感じたからだ。
　
　Acimと聖書が違うなあと思うのは、聖書ならわからなくても神を賛美しておけばなんとなく終わるところがある。Acimの場合は、そういう面もあるが、執拗に訂正を追ってくる感じがある。これの天使が追いかけてくるような感じは、預言者たちへの愛に似ている。
