　暗闇やそれ自体では存在しない。光の欠落の状態にすぎないという話。そして、この欠落＝暗闇が人間の肉体そのものだという論理。

The law itself, if properly understood, offers only protection. It is those who have not yet changed their minds who brought the "hell-fire" concept into it. I assure you that I will witness for anyone who lets me, and to whatever extent he permits it.

　律法は人を守るためものなのに、罰として「地獄の業火」を書き込んだのは、回心していない人なのだ、ということで、Acimは聖書の処罰性を訂正する。加えて、それが信じられないなら、イエスご自身がそれをその人に証する。
