Sometimes in teaching there is benefit, particularly after you have gone through what seems theoretical and far from what the student has already learned, to bring him back to practical concerns.
特に学習を理詰めでやり過ごしたあとや、学習済み事項から逸脱してしまったあと、学生を実践的な関心に引き戻すことが学習過程でときおり有益である。

　ではなにが具体的なのか。

You do not ask too much of life, but far too little. When you let your mind be drawn to bodily concerns, to things you buy, to eminence as valued by the world, you ask for sorrow, not for happiness.
あなたは人生から多くのものを求めすぎているのではない。少なすぎるのだ。身体的な関心、購入するもの、世界から称賛されること、あなたがこんなことに心惹かれているとき、あなは悲しみを求めているのであって、幸せを求めてはいない。
