China is the world's biggest jailer of journalists. At least 30 journalists and 50 cyber reporters are in prison. And that is only those we know about. The general view is that the real figure is much higher, but since families and friends of imprisoned journalists are threatened into silence, we do not always have information on other cases. WAN is continuously updating its list of imprisoned Chinese journalists and cyber reporters. Here is information about eleven of them:
