Paul Kalina previews a two-part doco on the ethics of donor conception.

SEVEN-year-old Casey has a special way of explaining her origins. "My dad's sperm are sick, and sperm and eggs go together to make a baby. They couldn't swim, so they couldn't go to the egg and the egg wouldn't work. They tried and tried for two years. Brett donated sperm and it worked and then they had me," she explains with breathtaking innocence and candour.

Casey is one of the many children born in Australia courtesy of a donor. She has met donor Brett and played with his children. As it turns out, no less than 14 children -- biologically speaking, Casey's half-sisters and half-brothers -- have been conceived from Brett's sperm.
