VOA Wolfowitz: US Troops May Be in Iraq for Years

Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz says it's "entirely possible" that U.S. troops could stay in Iraq for years to come.
In testimony Tuesday before the House Armed Services committee, Mr. Wolfowitz rejected assertions that the military is "stuck" in its Iraq mission. But he said he did not know how long it would take before Iraqi troops can provide adequate security for the country.
Mr. Wolfowitz said when the Iraqi government assumes responsibility for security with some U.S. help, the coalition's mission in the country can be considered a success.
